I have had a sore left arm for about a month...pain in the bicep muscle (referred pain) and can't raise my arm more than a couple of inches - I KNEW it was my rotator cuff, since I had the same thing happen on my right shoulder in 2002 (with surgery in 2004). So, I went for the x-ray, consult with the Ortho Surgeon, and the requisite MRA (the one with the dye)...diagnosis? More than a 50% tear in the rotator - doctor says it looks to almost be torn all the way through but he can't tell conclusively...So, surgery is scheduled for Dec 15. Luckily for me, my company is off from Dec 24 to Jan 2. So, I will be out a week early for Winterbreak. It's making me nuts because I'm left-handed.
The one "shining" moment in all of this? There are a couple actually - one, I have one of the best surgeons in our area doing the surgery (and that says a lot) and he did my other one so I totally trust (and adore) him. But the REAL shining moment is that my smug bee-otch of a primary care doctor gets told that I did have a tear - a big old tear thankyouverymuch...her treatment plan was "do physical therapy" -- without an x-ray, without any checking.

Hope all goes with the surgery...
Good luck, and keep us posted!
